MyFace--A poem

I went to the dentist today
For my molar decay.
They gave me Novocaine
So I would feel no pain.
Now their work is done
But my face still feels numb.

That's it. Blah...

A most cheesy topic

The time has come for me to speak on a very important topic. Well, semi-important. Okay it's not really important at all, but I'm still going to talk about it.  My most favoritest random, non-serious topic to speak on would probably have to be cheese.

"CHEESE?!?!? Why cheese?" I'm glad you asked. And I'm not sure of the answer. But together we will try to get to the bottom of this cheese infatuation.

The time has come the walrus said to talk of cheesy things. So here I go: cheese is by far not my favorite food item. This is odd considering I like to say the word cheese so much. I think there is just something fun about the word "cheese" that provokes one to speak the word "cheese" so often. Well, it provokes me at least. I can't speak for the rest of the populace.

Now I shall strategically place a photograph of cheese here to make you think cheesy thoughts:

Let me see, how has cheese influenced my life?  Well, I once skimmed through this influential book that my mom bought at a garage sale. It had an amazing title: "Who Moved My Cheese?" This title should always be spoken in a slightly whiny voice. I can't remember much of any of the content, but I frequently like to speak the title, in my weird whiny voice.

As you can see, this book was a number one bestseller; probably because it is an a-MAZING way to deal with change in your work and your life. A true classic. Definitely on the summer reading list.

Hmmm...other ways cheese has played a role in my existence? Ah, yes! My brother Joey likes to make a delicacy called "Fried Cheese." This involves taking a frying pan (that's where the "Fried" part comes in) and put some cheese in there (hence the "Cheese" part) and heat it until it becomes Fried Cheese. Brilliant!

I suppose I will never get to the bottom of my cheese infatuation. I will now close this most random blog entry with a quote written by many cool people: "Yo, choco taco! Get in my belly! I thirst...for canned cheese."

J-Bros--J-town style, yo.

So, Jobus (aka Joey my bro) and I were rocking out to this sweet drummer, Cobus.  He was playing a drum cover of the Jonas Brothers song "Burnin' Up." This song has VERY profound lyrics. For all you skeptics, I kid you not. Here is a sampling:

I'm slipping into the lava [Sounds like a very bad situation to be in]
and I'm trying to keep from going under [That would be a wise move]
Baby who turned the temperature hotter? [a very good question at this point in the singer's existence]
Cuz I'm burnin' up, burnin' up for you baby.

Now in our household, you wouldn't be a good Johnson if you didn't change the words to this song. Just to shake things up a bit I decided to change the word "lava" to "larvae." And Joey responded "And I'm trying to keep from being a pupae." Simple, yet profound. There you have it. I think that's enough profundity for one night.

p.s. Thinking back to my last post about teabags and their wisdom, my latest saying connects with this topic: Anything to stupid to be said is sung--Voltaire. I have a hunch Voltaire did a lot of singing in his life time. But that's another topic for a different blog...

Tea Time

I love to drink tea. I have already had a nice big cup o' tea today and I just might down another one later on depending on how I feel. I prefer to drink the Good Earth brand of tea, the kind with the tea bags that have little sayings on them. Some of these sayings are profound, some have terrible worldviews, and still others make me laugh. I will share a few quotes with you right now, my dear reader.

"In mathematics you don't understand things. You just get used to them." Johann von Neumann (so true man!)

"What is good for the liver is bad for the spleen." Wise saying from the Orient

So there you have it; just a few things I have learned from drinking tea. So go drink some teas and be kind to your spleen!
